Nói Siríus

Easter Unwrapped

Easter eggs from Nói Síríus are an inseparable part of Icelandic cultural heritage, and few things are as closely tied to the national spirit at this time of year. So when we were given the opportunity to create campaign material for what is essentially Nói Síríus’ peak season, we saw it as a real honour.

Easter advertising has a tendency to appear early. In fact, the eggs often arrive in stores almost as soon as the Christmas season ends. Instead of resisting that feeling, we leaned into it and made it the core idea of the campaign.

The focus was on strong, carefully crafted copy, where anticipation and that familiar sense of excitement around Easter chocolate played a central role.

  • Nói Síríus is one of Iceland’s most iconic confectionery brands, best known for its Easter eggs, which have become a deeply rooted part of the country’s seasonal traditions.

This campaign focused on capturing the anticipation that surrounds their early arrival each year, using strong, thoughtful copy and close-up visuals to evoke both nostalgia and craving, and to reconnect people with a ritual that feels both personal and shared.

  • At Easter, the aim is to evoke warm and personal memories connected to Nói Síríus Easter eggs, while encouraging people to choose ours. The campaign tapped into the emotional connection many have with this seasonal tradition, creating space for people to reflect on their own Easter memories, from childhood to today.

By starting the conversation early, we prompted familiar thoughts like “Which egg did I get last year?” and “Which one should I go for this time?” This created a natural link between past experiences, present choices, and the product itself.

  • The design placed the chocolate front and centre, using close-up photography to highlight the detail of the eggs. In the shoot, the eggs were treated almost like objects of art, with the texture of the chocolate and the colourful foil taking focus.

Light, gloss, and depth were used to bring out that specific craving, the kind that only really appears when you are about to take the first bite of Easter chocolate.

  • I co-led the project alongside the Creative Director, working closely with the copywriter and designer throughout the process.

Undressing the Eggs

We tried to wait, but the eggs were impossible to resist. So we removed the foil and let the chocolate take the spotlight.

Beyond the Foil

Easter came late this year, but why wait? We got things started early with this teaser. The iconic foil wrapping the eggs is something every Icelander instantly recognises, making it the perfect starting point to build anticipation ahead of the season.

Easter came late, but the eggs were ready. The first glimpse becomes the full reveal.
